2005 Fender Japan TD41 Telecaster Deluxe Order (DK-441) in Black (BLK)—the unofficial Chuck era Sum 41 Deryck Whibley artist model. As a TD fan, I've been chasing this one for a while.
Given the crazy rarity and era of production, there is very little information online. It seems the TD-41 was a shop order by Music Land KEY, who also commissioned multiple TD75 orders around the same time (long after the TD model was removed as a normal catalog offering). Also notable it was released prior to the Squier iteration of Whibley's TD.
Based on known serial numbers, I hypothesize at least two runs were produced, as they align in two distinct clusters—with the respective serials just a few digits apart. Only 4-5 have popped up for sale in the past decade.
A wide range humbucker and side input jack are present, albeit factory disconnected—just for aesthetic purposes. Bridge pickguard route is large enough should one choose to swap the humbucker positions. Allegedly these came even came with red vinyl tape, should the buyer choose to apply their own ❌.
November 21, 2005 date stamp in neck pocket.
100% fully functional without issues.
Set up with D'Addario 10-46 strings, and plays well up and down the neck with proper intonation.
Includes Fender Japan gig bag.

Fender Japan TD History
The "TD" series in Japan has an odd history, and was produced in limited quantities. The '72 Deluxe reissue was first offered upon Fender Japan's inception in the mid-80s as the "TD75", built to original 1970s specs (12" fretboard radius, and larger jumbo frets). It was offered as a catalog model until discontinued in 1991. However, the model sporadically reappeared with either a "TD-75" or "TD-74 LTD" model number, being special ordered by Japanese retailers (primarily Music Land KEY) in small batches.
This limited edition model sports a bone nut, 7.25" radius, 70's style bridge saddles, and an ash body.
(Newer incarnations of the Japanese '72 Deluxe either have the incorrect headstock, peculiar non-tapering "U" profile neck, 9.5" radius, and/or larger modern fretwire.)
