1994 Fender Japan JG66-RC Jaguar in Burgundy Mist Metallic (BMT) with matching headstock. The "RC" suffix refers to a limited run of both BMT and Shoreline Gold Metallic (SRG), with approximately 120 JG66s and JM66s produced in each color. This early version of BMT shifts between a copper and pink hue, depending on the angle and quality of light.

Manufactured at the FujiGen factory in Japan. “S” serial prefix.

100% fully functional.

Set up with D'Addario 10-46 strings, playing well up and down the neck with proper intonation.

Includes Fender Japan gig bag. No vibrato arm.

Note: The “RC” suffix stands for “Rare Color“. The BMT and SRG from this limited run reflected aged vintage 1960's examples, rather than typical Fender factory swatches. In the 1994 “NEWMODELS” catalog, “Rare Color” was used to describe the 40th Anniversary Foto Flame Stratocasters, where BMT and SRG made their first catalog appearance during the FujiGen era.

Condition

Cosmetically the 32+ year old instrument is in very good shape, with various minor dings, chips, scratches and finish wear commensurate with age. Clear coat has yellowed, enhancing the copper hue of the finish.

Typical minor finish cracks at neck pocket. Chrome hardware has patina. Pickguard has pick scratches and yellowing.

Frets have some wear, primarily beneath the unwound strings in the open chord area. No buzzing/fretting out/etc. Back of neck has a cluster of dings/scratches around the ninth fret, which are not too distracting while playing.

Modifications

- Clear coat finish repair above nut by Portland Fretworks (due to previous owner attempting to remove nut for lefty conversion)
- Additional lefty strap hole (by previous owner)
