1994 Fender Japan JG66-RC Jaguar in Burgundy Mist Metallic (BMT) with matching headstock. The "RC" suffix refers to a limited run of both BMT and Shoreline Gold Metallic (SRG), with approximately 120 JG66s and JM66s produced in each color—exclusive to the Japanese market. This special version of BMT shifts between copper and pink hues, depending on the angle and quality of light.

Manufactured at the FujiGen factory in Japan.

100% fully functional. All electronics are original.

Set up with D'Addario 10-46 strings, playing as well as currently possible (due to the fret wear) up and down the neck with proper intonation.

Includes newer Fender gig bag and new vibrato arm.

Note: I believe “RC” stands for “Real Color”. Around the same time Fender Japan used the suffix "RV" for “Real Vintage”, to denote vintage accurate specifications. The BMT and SRG from this limited run reflected aged vintage 1960's examples, rather than fresh factory swatches.

Condition

Cosmetically the instrument is in good shape, with various minor dings, chips, scratches and finish wear expected of a 30+ year old instrument. Typical minor finish cracks at neck pocket. Chrome hardware has patina. Pickguard has pick scratches. Minor buckle rash on back of body. Slightly impacted bottom strap button.

Frets are worn, primarily in the open chord area and beneath the unwound strings, and will need to be refretted in the immediate future to play optimally. It currently plays fine as-is with normal action/relief, due to the uniformity of the wear. The first "A" note on the "G" string has some buzz, as it is the most worn spot.

Vibrato mounting holes were redrilled/moved sometime in the past, then doweled and moved back to the factory position. There are no visible/functional issues due to this.

Back and sides of neck have various minor dings. Dings on tip and sides of headstock.

Modifications

- Additional vibrato holes redrilled/doweled (sometime in the past)
