1991 Fender Japan '72 Telecaster reissue in Matte Brown (MBR) finish on the entire body and neck with factory gold hardware—a non-catalog, order model. This example features a 2-piece center seam body, and very dark slab rosewood fretboard.

Manufactured at the FujiGen factory in Japan. "A" stamp in neck pocket denotes a lacquer finish. Order number "K-150". Pots are dated 1991.

100% fully functional.

Set up with D'Addario 10-46 strings, playing well up and down the neck with proper intonation.

Includes early Fender Japan gig bag.

Condition

Cosmetically the 34 year old instrument is in good shape, with numerous dings, chips, scratches, and finish wear commensurate with age.

Lacquer body finish is very faded/cloudy, exceptionally so on the front of the body—typical of nearly all MBR finishes from this era. Typical minor finish cracks at neck pocket. Body finish and back of neck have been worn gloss in some areas from years of play. Gold hardware has patina. Pickguard has pick markings from play.

Frets have wear, primarily in the lower register/open chord area, and beneath the unwound strings. No egregious divots/fretting out/etc. Back of neck has some minor dings/scratches; ding on treble side around third fret.
