1986 Fender Japan Order Made TL52-75 '52 Telecaster in Natural (NAT) finish, with figured birdseye neck and two-piece center seam ash body.

Despite being stamped "75" (as it would have been pulled off the production line to fulfill the custom order), the wood used is on par with the highest tier Extrad instruments from the period.

Compared to an Extrad, the major difference is a poly finish and "75" tier electronics—pickup switch, pots, and bridge (opposed to full USA parts). A natural finish is also uncommon, compared to the typical Butterscotch Blonde (BSB) or Blonde (BLD) catalog colors.

Manufactured at the FujiGen factory. "A" serial prefix, neck heel dated 1986. Order Made "NO.244"/"#256" (mismatched numbers are an uncommon occurrence in the early years; patterning in the neck pocket and heel finishes are an exact match).

100% fully functional.

Set up with D'Addario 10-46 strings, playing well up and down the neck with proper intonation.

Includes vintage Fender Japan faux leather gig bag.

What is "Order Made"?
The FujiGen "Order Made" stamp system—a continuation from Greco production—designated non-catalog/custom orders. This system was integrated with normal factory production work, with prioritization of parts being pulled off the normal production line to fulfill requests, with minimal disruption to maintain efficiency. It was quickly succeeded by the "Order", "K", "Y", etc prefix stamps, but the system effectively remained the same. Handwriting in the pocket sometimes denotes a one-off order, while numbered stamps are runs of multiple instruments.

Condition

Cosmetically the 40 year old instrument is in very good shape, with various minor dings, scratches, and finish wear commensurate with age. Chrome hardware has patina and scratches. Finish chips behind bridge from intonation adjustment from previous owner. Buckle rash on back of body (none through to the wood).

Frets have some wear, primarily in the open chord area beneath the unwound strings, but still plays well without issue. Fretboard has some minor, natural play wear in the thin finish. Back of neck is clean with some superficial dings at the skunk stripe at the third and fifth frets.
