1986 Fender Japan ST72-115 Order Made, a one-off Custom Made series customer order in Cherry Red Sunburst (CRS). The only example I've seen of a maple scalloped and painted neck. Like the 1986 catalog ST72-115, it features full USA electronics, pickups, vibrato (partial), and Schaller "F" tuners.

Per the original owner, they custom ordered the guitar directly from Fender Japan in 1986, and it has been stored for the past 30 years. Original CTS pots are dated 1986. Manufactured at the FujiGen factory.

100% original, aside from the selector switch tip.

100% fully functional without issue.

Set up with D'Addario 10-46 strings, playing well up and down the neck with proper intonation.

Includes original Fender Japan hard case with pink interior (minor damage to side), vibrato arm, and back plate.

Condition

Cosmetically the 40 year old instrument is in very good shape, with some minor dings, scratches, and superficial finish wear commensurate with age. Chrome hardware has minor patina. Pickguard has pick markings from play. Minor plating chipping at vibrato arm hole. Vibrato spring cover has cracking on a few of the screw holes, but still fully functional.

Frets have minor wear. No buzzing/fretting out/etc. Back of the neck is clean with no dings. Minor finish imperfection on bass side at fifth fret.
