1983 Fender "JV" JM66-70 Jazzmaster, Original Paperwork, One Owner
Couldn't load pickup availability
1983 Fender Japan JM66-70 Jazzmaster in 3-tone sunburst (3TS) with "JV" serial—one of the first Jazzmaster reissues produced, predating the official catalog soft-launch of the model in 1985 by two years. One of the cleanest sunburst examples I have seen, it was purchased from the original owner in Japan, and includes original warranty paperwork.
Being one of the earliest JM66 examples, it features true wide, flat coil Jazzmaster pickups (unlike all subsequent JM66s). It is also the only JM66 (or Greco) I have seen with a 1960's spec bridge (perhaps changed before or after the initial purchase). The vibrato has a snap-in arm, like vintage and AVRI USA models. Strap buttons are also offset, which is unique to these initial JV models.
Manufactured at the FujiGen factory in Japan. Original pots are dated 1983. Original shop warranty card from Mitaka Musical Instruments dated October 3rd, 1984. Factory "70" suffix sticker intact on back of headstock.
100% fully functional.
The instrument is presumed all original, aside from early Seymour Duncan pickups that were upgraded immediately after purchase, and possibly the bridge. (Original, functional pickups are included.)
Set up with D'Addario 10-46 strings, playing up and down the neck with proper intonation.
Includes vintage Japanese hard case (in fair, functional shape), original paperwork, warranty card, pickups, and vibrato arm.
